Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) Munitions Directorate’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Day

The Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) Munitions Directorate’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Day has moved from 11/19/2020 to 2/11/2021. Several HBCUs asked that the event be delayed to the early Spring due to the reality of COVID conditions and its impact on their schedules and students. We will still conduct this event virtually.

The Doolittle Institute previously identified you and your organization as a research group which may wish to participate. Under the later due date, we invite you to submit your abstract(s) for completed or current research in one or more of the following areas:

  • Novel sensing/detection for extreme environments
  • Seeker sensors new architecture concepts and technologies
  • Machine learning and physical systems
  • Machine learning and aerodynamic models
  • Correlating material structure to behavioral response in energetic materials
  • High performance materials for additive manufacturing

Some of the potential opportunities for selected presenters include:

  • Seedling funding and sponsored research
  • at AFRL Munitions Directorate
  • Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRADA)
  • Educational Partnership Agreements (EPA)

We've put more specific details about each topic . Please feel free to contact me for more information about these topics if needed.

Submissions are due by 1/11/2021 and will be reviewed by the Air Force Research Lab Munitions Directorate’s Core Technical Competency leads.

Submissions should be in Word doc or PDF format, include no more than 250 words, and one figure or image. References do not count towards the word limit. Please send submissions to innovation@doolittleinstitute.org.

Those selected to present will be notified by 1/28/2021, about two weeks in advance of the event. Each topic discussed will consist of an abstract presentation and a question and answer period.

Thank you again for the research you're doing. We trust this may be a match and look forward to receiving your abstracts.
