Institutional Biosafety Committee

Pursuant to the Federal requirements set forth at 7 CFR 331, 9 CFR 121, 32 CFR Part 626, 42 CFR 73.0, and the USA Patriot Act: Federal Regulations for Research Involving Recombinant or Synthetic Nucleic Acid Molecules, “each institution engaged in research which is covered by any of these regulations and which is conducted or sponsored by a federal department or agency shall provide a written assurance satisfactory to the department or agency head that it will comply with the requirements set forth in these regulations”. The AAMU Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) will facilitate and manage this important federal compliance issue.
