Instructions

The First Lady’s Scholarship is open to sophomores, juniors, rising seniors and graduate students who are enrolled full-time. Scholarships will be awarded at the First Lady’s Scholarship Initiative Celebration on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Legacy Lake (RAIN: Ernest Knight Reception Center).

Scholarship Criteria:

• Sophomore Status (at least 30 credit hours)
• No Graduating Seniors (current semester graduating)
• No past recipients
• Minimum GPA of 2.5 (undergraduate) and 3.0 (graduate)
• Actively involved in the community or campus service activities
• Demonstrate leadership abilities and possess good communication skills

Application Criteria

1. The completed application must be submitted online.
2. Unofficial copy of the transcript must be submitted and uploaded with the application
3. Photo must be submitted/uploaded with the application
4. Submit/upload biography (500 words or less)
5. Three letters of recommendation/reference addressed to:
   • The First Lady’s Scholarship Committee
     (Letters must be uploaded with the application; written on official letterhead from organization/agency and signed)
   • NOTE: Past recipients may not reapply for the application

Application Deadline

• Application and attachments are due by October 1, 2021, by 11:59 p.m.
  Note: No incomplete application packet will be accepted. (A complete application packet includes all requested information listed in the application criteria above.)
