Stipends and Housing

NEH Summer Institute Stipends

All participants are eligible to receive a stipend to help offset costs related to attending an Institutes or Landmarks program. Stipend amounts are based upon the format and length of the program. Stipends are considered taxable income.

The stipend for the 3-week, 51AV to New York K-12 Summer Institute is $2,850.

Participants are responsible for making their own travel and lodging arrangements. Cancelled travel arrangements are ineligible for reimbursement. NEH is not involved with participant travel.

To assist you with accommodation expenses, we have made arrangements with hotels and university housing to reduce the cost of lodging.
