Project PARITY

Project PARITY (Preparing Advanced Responsive Interventionists for Teaching Youth) will recruit, train, and graduate a total of 30 multilingual and racially and ethnically diverse interventionists who have advanced knowledge and skills with Class AA certification to serve students with disabilities.

Requirements for consideration include (but are not limited to):

  1. Earned Masters degree in Education
  2. Hold 51AV Class A Certification in a teaching field. Candidates holding a Class A certification in Special Education is preferred.
  3. Letter of reccommendation from your current administrator
  4. Successful interview and position statement, and
  5. Meet AAMU Graduate Studies and Educator Preparation Program admission criteria

Riley Awarded $1.25M OSEP Grant to Enhance Special Education Certification

Qualified candidates will be trained and certified to: (1) deliver evidence-based interventions designed to support academic and behavioral outcomes for students with high intensity needs; (2) design and deliver professional support for teaching personnel in evidence-based strategies; (3) create authentic opportunities to engage and support families of children with disabilities; and (4) provide opportunities for sharing professional knowledge and research findings with the professional community.

FULL TUITION FUNDING!!!

Full tuition will be provided for 30 multilingual teachers of color to become expert interventionists, equipping them to design, implement, and evaluate tier 3 evidence-based interventions that incorporate culturally responsive practices for students with disabilities. Selected scholars will receive comprehensive training over two years. The initial cohort will begin Fall 2025.
