Project STRIVE (Specialized Teachers Responsive in Inetrventions for Varying Exceptionalities) will identify, recruit, and prepare 25 scholars (13 students for the first cohort; 12 students for the second cohort) of underrepresented populations to obtain a Masters of Education degree (MEd) and become a highly qualified teacher in Special Education. The Collaborative Special Education undergraduate and graduate programs prepares highly qualified, innovative educational leaders who consistently demonstrate extensive knowledge and competencies in educating diverse and exceptional learners. The primary goal of the Collaborative Special Education program is for our candidates to have a seamless transition from pre-service to novice teacher by cultivating a supportive, inclusive environment and providing the necessary support to assist the candidates in being purposeful, present, and productive professionals.
