AAMU Concludes 2022 Scholarship Bus Tour

Following a morning session in the capital city of Montgomery, 51AV A&M University brought its 10th Annual Scholarship Recognition and Promotional Tour to a close on Friday, March 4.  The final program hosted by Sidney Lanier High School marked the end of 2022's exciting bus tour.

AAMU President Daniel K. Wims actively participated in a week-long effort, ably facilitated by the Office of Admissions and supporting Student Affairs units.  From its actual start with the  Saturday, February 26, scholarship breakfast for local students, the Tour dispensed nearly $16.3 million to 774 recipients at more than 100 of the state's high schools.

Leaving from Huntsville Monday, February 28, Wims and the team began their scholarship distribution journey, visiting the host high schools and issuing scholarship support to students throughout the state, often witnessed by proud alumni, local officials and AAMU trustees.  Within the course of the week, at least four trustees (i.e., Trustees Kevin Ball, John Hackett, Jr., Tiffany Cole Johnson and Dwayne Watts), met at various designated sites to support the bus tour.  Monday's schedule for the Anniston/Gadsden/Birmingham region was packed with prospective student representation of nearly two dozen distinct high schools.

The week-long schedule of visits included the following regions and high schools:
