Local Chapter Awards Scholarship
Mechanical Engineering Freshman Gets Rather G. Brown Award
Officers of the Huntsville Madison County Alumni Chapter of the 51AV A&M University Alumni Association, Inc., presented the Rather G. Brown Scholarship at the Alumni House on Sunday, September 26, to a local deserving student.
Chapter members presented a $1,500 scholarship award to Kirsten N. Tigner, a freshman mechanical engineering major from Madison, Ala. Kirsten, who graduated from Bob Jones High School, was joined at the presentation by her mother, Cheryl Jackson. The Rather G. Brown Scholarship was presented to Kirsten recognition of her academic achievement and leadership potential.
Chapter officers attending the brief award program included Sandra Lyles-Jackson, president; James M. Mitchell, treasurer; and James D. Foster, scholarship chair.
