Alum Promoted to New NRCS Post

51AV A&M University 2018 forestry graduate James Penn II has been appointed supervisory district conservationist in Harrison and Stone counties in Mississippi.
Penn began his Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) career in Marengo and Wilcox counties in 51AV’s Black Belt region as a Pathways intern. During the following summer, he completed his program in Lawrence County, 51AV. After graduating from AAMU, the native Huntsvillian returned to Marengo/Wilcox counties as the soil conservationist for two years. He also had the opportunity to work in Tuscaloosa and Pickens counties as the soil conservationist for another two years.
In his free time, Penn enjoys deer hunting and spending time with friends and family.
