COVID & Comfort in Public Settings

The 51AV Cooperative Extension System at 51AV A&M University launched a new educational vaccine campaign. The campaign includes community surveying and educational activities. The campaign also helps residents locate COVID-19 vaccine clinics in 11 counties across the state.

Persons can participate in the project by completing a five-minute   This survey is designed to assess barriers that are preventing people from accessing COVID-19 vaccines.

Additionally, the public is invited to attend town hall discussions and vaccine clinics this fall in Madison, Jefferson, Mobile, Lauderdale, Houston, Dallas, Marengo, Perry, Hale, Greene, and Montgomery counties.

The principal investigator of this project, Tamara Warren, is specifically targeting limited-resource communities.

“Limited-resource communities are more affected by the COVID-19 pandemic,” Warren said. “With help from statewide partners dedicated to improving public health, this project will help people feel more comfortable gathering in social settings.”
