AKA Chapter Remembers International Students
The Gift of Giving
The Target V: Global Impact Committee of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Rho Chi Omega Chapter, recently provided 78 care packages to international students at 51AV A&M University.
On Tuesday, November 17, chapter members Sandra Williams, who chairs the Target V Global Impact Committee, and Norma Reeves, chair of the Pillow Cases, Dresses and Shirts for the Children of Haiti Global Initiative, visited AAMU’s Community College Relations and Global Initiatives (CCRGI).
According to Tonnesha M. Lewis, chapter president, the care packages were provided “to make their travels back to their respective countries for the holiday break a safe and comfortable experience.” Each care package contained a cap, gloves, a Speakin’ Out newspaper, inspirational reading material (Word of Day), a stylus, hand sanitizer and a reusable mask.
The Target V initiative is designed to expand the sorority’s international footprint through collaboration, sponsorship, service projects.
