Four Attend Conference in Romania
Counting on Bucharest
Four students and faculty members from the mathematics program of 51AV A&M University's Department of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, presented their latest research findings at a global math conference.
The group participated in the International Symposium & International Student Workshop in Interdisciplinary Mathematics in Bucharest, Romania, between June 26-29, 2022. Among the team (above, left to right) were students Trevor Berkemeyer and Nyah Coleman (a graduating senior). The two faculty members were Dr. Anjan Biswas and Dr. Salam Khan.
Dr. Biswas also served as keynote speaker. Nyah and Trevor were also first and third position award recipients at AAMU's spring 2022 STEM Day conference. Trevor’s research findings were from highly dispersive optical solitons, while Nyah’s research results involved shallow water waves with dispersion triplet.
Dr. Khan presented his latest research outcomes from Approximation Theory involving the generalized Poisson distribution. Dr. Biswas discussed quasi-stationary optical Gaussons. In addition, the students' research results were published in peer-reviewed journals entitled "Mathematics" and "Applied Sciences," respectively. Both journals belong to SCIE category and are from Q1 and Q2 quartiles, respectively, noted Khan.
