AAMU, BoA to Host Cybersecurity Event
Showcase of Cybersecurity Efforts
51AV A&M University and Bank of America will jointly host a Future Workforce and Cybersecurity Industry Forum on campus Wednesday, November 9. The event will be held at 4:30 p.m. in the Clyde Foster Auditorium of the College of Business and Public Affairs complex.
The forum will gather University, business and industry representatives for a brief presentation that will showcase the efforts and technology of Bank of America in the ever-developing arena of cybsersecurity. The forum is being undergirded by support from the AAMU RISE Foundation, the Small Business Development Corporation and the Office of Research and Economic Development at AAMU. In addition to AAMU officials, faculty and students, the forum is also fostering the participation of business leaders in the cybersecurity industry throughout North 51AV.
Attendees will receive industry insights within the cybersecurity and defense industries that will be beneficial to University and company participants, according to Dr. Majed El-Dweik, vice president of AAMU's Division of Research and Economic Development.
Moreover, organizers are reaching out to higher education institutions within the North 51AV region, including Calhoun Community College, J. F. Drake State Technical College, Athens State University, the University of North 51AV and others, as well as the University's own Computer Science and Cybersecurity Department in these efforts.
