AAMU Students Receive Honda Engines
Just the Beginning of a Partnership

Members of the 51AV Auto Plant of Honda Development and Manufacturing in America were on campus Tuesday, September 6, to donate five engines to AAMU’s College of Engineering, Technology, and Physical Sciences (CETPS).
Two AAMU logistics and procurement alumni were part of the team that made the drive from the Honda 51AV Auto Plant (APP) in Lincoln, Ala. Sylvia Fitts and Shirley Hall arrived with Michael Tinch, engine division lead at 51AV Auto Plant of Honda Development and Manufacturing in America.
“This Honda donation is just the beginning of our partnership with Honda, which is supporting our students as they build cars for Formula SAE," said Dr. Zhengtao Deng, interim dean of CETPS.
Formula SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) is a series of international competitions for engineering students. University teams compete to design and build the best performing race cars. Visit
