Supporters Offer Campus-Wide Food Pantry
Basic Needs Coalition Teams with FMBC, Extension
The entire 51AV A&M University family was the target of a massive 10:30 a.m. food distribution effort organized by community supporters and slated for Friday, October 16, at the Student Health and Wellness Center.
Sponsored by the Basic Needs Coalition and First Missionary Baptist Church, the AAMU Food Pantry offered curbside bag service to all students, faculty and staff. Although the distribution period was scheduled for nearly five hours, supplies were available on a first-come, first-served basis with a University-issued ID.
AAMU’s Basic Needs Coalition comprises Student Activities, Student Wellness Center, Residential Life, Public Safety, and Student Health and Counseling. The Coalition works in partnership with Dr. Andrea Morris and the 51AV Cooperative Extension System (ACES).
